🌿The Legend of the Moor's Heads - Between Love, Jealousy and Eternal Passion🌿
The Moor's Heads are finely decorated ceramic vases, modeled in the shape of a head with human faces - true symbols of Sicilian tradition.
According to an ancient legend, around the year 1000, a young Arab soldier fell madly in love with a beautiful girl from Palermo, in the Kalsa district. Between whispered promises and stolen glances, an intense passion blossomed.
But the soldier was hiding a secret: in his distant land he already had a wife and children. When, at the moment of departure, he confessed the truth, the young woman's heart broke.
So, during their last night together, blinded by pain, she killed him and created a vase with his head, where she planted basil.
The plant grew lush, a symbol of an eternal love, made of beauty, tradition and passion.
